Our Research Projects

Research is an integral part of Three In One Australia's training program. All trainers and participants are encouraged to be involved in it.

The benefits of a One Brain consultation extend far beyond our original expectations. Simply gathering a list and descriptions of those benefits is of great assistance to us who offer these methods to the public; it is also useful to those interested in gaining the benefits for themselves. What are indications of your life's getting better? What ones have you experienced yourself?

Many of us have had clients reporting that nothing has changed since the last session, only to go on and describe how life has improved: something that was usually difficult, stressful or frightening was easy; the usual argument or fight with their partner did not occur; come to think of it, I used to have those aches and pains.

We can't rely on our clients to spread the word. They have simply resolved their issue, which might have troubled them for a lifetime, and got on with living. We are left wondering why they haven't come back; well, they got what they wanted and moved on. Expressions of gratitude surely would be wonderful, but we can't wait in expectation. The trouble is that we can still find opportunities for self-doubt, and we're looking for assurance. We wonder why they don't tell others of the benefits.

How much do we who teach and practice this work tell others of the benefits we have received? How much do we notice them? There were certainly significant changes in me that I did not notice till others had pointed them out. How much do we communicate to others our observations of positive changes they have made?

Yes, we do look in the mirror and see amazing changes after one session or workshop. Again it is usually someone else who saw them before us. We notice that choices we made in a session are showing in changed behaviour. There are objectively observable results to One Brain sessions. We see physical and mental pain and other symptoms reduced or eliminated apparently as a result of our Emotional Stress Defusion skills. What if the apparent could be demonstrated.

What if we could categorise and quantify the results in ways that would catch the attention of people who could benefit from and adopt the powerful tools we have.

Sue Dawson's research is a big step. An abstract is publisned on this site. We also need articles in referred journals.

What would we learn by participating in research?

how to talk about our unique Three In One work with those in the scientific and medical world.
how to conduct research in manner that will lead to useful outcomes that will stand up.
how to write up the results so that it can be accepted in journals
how to set up the communication and common ownership of research.

Some observations:

there are universities who now have interest in complementary health care or methods for promoting wellness
there is a lot of interest in the news media in what behavioral geneticists are doing
university researchers are doing a lot of work on facial structure and expression
psychology research is designing tools for measuring the expression of emotion ("emotional leakage techniques")

Beginning Steps:

research discussion groups
see who's actually doing research already
determine how to structure the research
determine how to do pre testing and post testing

more to come
